As with the other LTD B series guitars from ESP, the B 4E has extremely beveled edges which allow you to see the contrast of light and dark between the mahogany body and ebony top. Adding to this contrast of woods is the even lighter 5 piece neck thru body maple/mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. This gives the guitar a decadent appearance, as if it was just plucked from a tree.
But looks aren't everything. If you're going to lay out your hard earned cash, you want to get some good bang for your buck. Ensuring you get the most of the tones these blends of woods provide are ESP SB 4 pickups (bridge & neck) with an ESP ABQ 3 3 band active EQ. Use the knobs to adjust for more brightness on pop tunes or gain more kick on the low end when you're getting down and dirty for a more rocking tune.
It is also worth noting that the body is short scale, at 34", with an extra thin "U" neck contour, a 42mm standard nut, 24 XJ frets, ESP tuners, an ESP BB 604 bridge with string thru body, and black nickel hardware.
