Owner Reviews These strings have been on my fretless basses in the past, and really helped keep the "mwah" factor going without wearing grooves into the fingerboard. On that basis alone, I would recommend them. Recently I put a set on my G&L JB-2 to tame some of the highs, and have been rewarded with more useful range for my tone knob. I can still dial in a great slap sound, and did not need to mess with the intonation at all (G&L's ship with standard roundwound XL's, with the 100-gauge E, and I used the same gauge of half-rounds). Perhaps best of all, a 6-hour gig won't leave your plucking hand throbbing the next day with these things.
