Product Description
This awesome black t-shirt is silkscreened with the classic 'Layla' cover. The image has been lightly distressed to look authentically vintage. Clapton's band, Dereck and the Domino's, released the album, 'Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs' which contained the hit single "Layla". The song was inspired by the classical Persian poet Nezami Ganjavi's 'The Story of Layla and Majnun'. His friend Ian Dallas gave him the book which moved Clapton profoundly as it was the tale of a young man who fell hopelessly in love with a beautiful, unavailable woman and who went crazy because he couldn't marry her. Clapton connected with the story after he met and became deeply infatuated with George Harrison's wife Pattie Boyd, who spurned him. The shirt has a portrait of Clapton with LAYLA printed below; the design is accented in muted greens and blues on a black background. Celebrate the great music of this guitar legend and his hits 'Let It Rain', and 'Wonderful Tonite', with this cool vintage-style shirt.
