Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Stage-4 Electric Bass Guitar
In stock at Guitar Center
on 4-3-2018.
Product Description
The Schecter Stiletto Stage-4 offers simple, useful controls paired with powerful bass tone to produce a hard-rocking axe with five strings of range. It features a mahogany body mounted to a thin-C three-piece maple neck with carbon fiber reinforcement rods, an ebony fretboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets. (Coolness point: the fretboard side makers glow in the dark so you can see them on stage.) The electronics consist of a pair of active Schecter Diamond SuperRock MM humbucker pickups controlled with master volume, blend and 3-band EQ.
Reviews From Buyers
From an esthetic and build quality standpoint, I give this bass pretty high marks. The hardware and electronics are high quality, and I love the flat-painted neck. Overall I'd like to say it's a pretty good value, but...........

The instrument arrived with such bad fret buzz that it is unplayable. It appears that a truss rod adjustment and/or a little work on the bridge height might do the trick to fix it, but I'm caught in a bit of a "Catch 22" at this point. I purchased the bass on-line and was hopeful that a quick trip to my local Guitar Center for a N/C adjustment would get me up a and running, but apparently things don't quite work that way (the store may want me to pay to get the instrument playable). My other option would be to return the bass and get a new one sent out, but there's no guarantee the replacement wouldn't have the same issue.

We'll see how this plays out.
